Crooked Sword Comedy is both proud and incredibly excited to announce the lineup for our 2 Year Anniversary Show! 2 years have gone by incredibly fast, and to celebrate we are sharing an amazing show with our amazing supporters! Show starts at 8:30, and in true Crooked Sword fashion, the show is FREE!
Headlining is easily one of Canada’s best comedians, Rob Pue! A commonly used turn of phrase, but in this case absolutely justified. This man takes Canadian Comedy to an entirely new level! Rob is one of very few Canadians to ever win the San Francisco Comedy Competition, the toughest comedy tournament on the planet. He’s had his own hysterical hour-long Comedy Now! special, has performed at all three of Canada’smajor Comedy Festivals, Montreal’s prestigious Just for Laughs, theWinnipeg Comedy Festival, and the Halifax Comedy Fest, and so much more!
Hosting will be KW’s own Rob Bebenek! Since moving to the big city, Rob has made many quick strides advancing through the ranks of Canadian comedy. Rob is a Yuk Yuk’s Headliner who has performed at the Halifax Comedy Festival, Cottage Country Comedy Festival, and Kitchener Waterloo Comedy Festival! He was also a finalist in the 2013 SiriusXM Top Comic Competition, and a semi-finalist in the Boston Comedy Festival. He’s also appeared on Gotham Comedy Live on AXS TV. One of the fastest rising stars in the country, you don’t want to miss him!
And featured will be the brilliant Sean Emeny, winner of the 2015 Just For Laughs Homegrown Award! If you’re not familiar with it, the Homegrown Award is one of the highest honours a Canadian comedian can achieve! Every year, only ten comedians from across the country are selected to compete against each other for the prestigious award and a $25,000 cash prize! Sean is the most recent winner, and once you see him, you will understand why! Sean has also performed at all three of Canada’s major festivals, and had a run of solo shows at Toronto’s JFL 42!
It’s difficult to fully express the happiness felt that Crooked Sword Comedy has made it this far, nor how excited we are to be celebrating this milestone! Please come celebrate it with us. July is an important month for Crooked Sword Comedy, and that’s all because of you amazing supporters.
